One of the biggest on-line reservation company - asia-hotels.com announced the results of their customer travel habit survey recently. Over 42,000 customers from 162 countries choose the Asias best hotels. 183 hotels received accreditation in 2002.

This is the first time that China had 26 hotels, which received the accreditation. Mainly located in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The top 3 best hotels in China are Grand Hyatt Shanghai, The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai and Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. The 4^th place is White Swan Guangzhou which is the best hotel in Guangzhou and Great Wall Sheraton is at the 5^th place. Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shenzen each has 1 hotel that received accreditation. Peninsula Hong Kong wins the Best hotel and Best business hotel in Asia. Oriental Bangkok, Thailand, on the other hand, wins the Best leisure hotel in Asia.
