Restaurant The hotel is famous for Western, Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese food with A La Carte menu. Especially, buffet dinner with wide range of European and Asian dishes is available only at Halong Plaza Hotel. There is also a poolside bar at the hotel, which serves fast food and drinks.
General The hotel also provides a wide array of small and large banquet and meeting rooms that have a seating capacity of up to 200 people. These meeting rooms are equipped with administrative services such as Overhead Projector, LCD projector, facsimile machine, computers and secretarial and translation support. Halong Plaza is still one of the nicest hotels in Halong. As the Novotel (already open and Sheraton under construction) open it will push the Plaza down the pecking order a little. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel as a little out of the main centre but I think that adds to the tranquility. The views across the bay are spectacular.

Nothing luxurious but a good choice for a Halong Bay hotel. They've added free internet (wireless+cable) recently. Rooms are rather large. The only negative thing is that it's a bit farther from the bay cruises departure pier. It's not that far but "central" Halong city is about 15 minutes walk or a short taxi ride away.
