Stayed at  Fulbari - Pokhara, Nepal.
We arrived in Kathmandu at a very difficult time but the people couldn't have been more welcoming. We stayed in Kathmandu for 3 days, looking around the tourist area of Thamel and buying lots of souvenirs, visiting the Monkey Temple(lots of steps!) and generally acclimatizing. We then flew to Pokhara with Buddha air, we sat on the right side of the plane out and managed to get some views of the mountains but the journey back (left-side seats) afforded us magnificent views. We didn't manage any trekking but got up at 5a.m. and visited Sarangot for more mountain viewing at sunrise (we were very lucky to see the whole range!) We visited the new mountaineering museum which had a fascinating collection and climbed up to the top of the Japanese Peace Pagoda. Of course no visit to Pokhara would be complete without a trip on the lake, stunning! Although there was a very heavy army/police presence in Kathmandu we never felt in any danger. We visited Patan and Baktipur by taxi and had some excellent local guides to show us around. We did not choose an ideal time to visit Nepal (end of monsoon, political problems, being unfit!) but it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it.

Stayed at  Fish Tail - Pokhara, Nepal.
We flew to Pokara from Kathmandu, a very nice flight of about 40 mins. But the domestic airport at Kathmandu was a bit of a nightmare. There are no announcements for flights and we had to stand at the one boarding door and check every flight which departed, all were delayed. Pokara airport was fine.
