The weather in Hong Kong falls into four distinct seasons. The summer is hot, humid, wet sticky and rainfall is at its highest. Visitors should wear light summer clothing. An umbrella is useful during this period, as are some sturdy shoes. Less humid with little rainfall, the weather is quite cool during the short winter months. It is advisable to bring a jacket. Spring is sunny and dry but is less predictable than autumn. Best time to visit: is autumn when the weather is generally warm and dry, the rainy season has ended and the region is not shrouded in mist.
